Why might pet sitting in my own home be better for my pets than boarding?
- Some pets get stressed in the car on the way to and from the kennel, but since I come to you, your pets never have to leave home!
- Many pets get very stressed in kennels and sometimes refuse to eat. Cats especially are easily stressed in new environments.
- Older or disabled dogs may become sore from being in a confined area for an extended period of time.
- Due to the large number of animals kennels take in, pets cannot receive as much individualized attention in a boarding facility as they could with their own personal caregiver.
- Parasites and contagious diseases may be present in some kennels if not properly cleaned or if thorough health screenings are not done on ALL clients.
Why is pet sitting more convenient for me than boarding?
- You don't have to worry about dropping off or picking up your pet at a facility. Some kennels offer a taxi service, but there is usually an added charge for the service
- You don't have to worry about bringing (or forgetting) food, medications, toys, blankets, or comfort items (i.e. favorite bed, something that smells like you) to a kennel.
- Most kennels ask that you pick your pet up by a certain time, often noon, or you will be charged for that entire day. I am more flexible with your return time and only charge more if you return after your pet's dinnertime, and even then it's still a partial day's charge.
- If you get home late, your pet won't have to stay overnight in a kennel just because they are closed.
- I will take care of smaller pets that many kennels will not accept, such as fish, rodents, and birds.
- If you're going to be gone for an extended period of time, you won't have to ask a neighbor or pay someone to take care of your mail, newspapers, and plants after paying for boarding for your pets, too.
What's different about Brandy's Pet Sitting?
- Most petsitting services do not stay overnight in your home. I can let your dog out late at night and first thing in the morning so they will not be uncomfortable waiting for someone to let them outside to potty.
- Some services have multiple sitters, and your pets have not always met the one that will be taking care of them prior to you leaving, but I will be the only person taking care of your pets, and both you and your pets will have met me before you leave.
- Many services charge extra for playing with your pets and giving them medication, but these services are included in my prices.
- I can bring my 2 shelties over to play with your dog/s if they get along
- When you book a reservation with me, those dates are reserved for your pets, and I will not have any other clients at that time. This allows your pets to get just as much attention as if you were home!
- You can call at any time while you are gone to check on your pets!
- My prices are very reasonable and include things other services charge for (i.e. watering plants, bringing in mail, etc.)
What areas are served by Brandy's Pet Sitting?
- I serve most of Virginia Beach and Chesapeake
I'm interested, but I'm still not sure... I also don't know when I'll be going out of town again. Can I arrange for a visit in my home to help me decide if I would like to use your services in the future?
- Absolutely!! I understand that figuring out what's best for your pet can be a difficult decision. I want you to be comfortable with whatever decision you make, so I will meet with you and your pets even if you don't book a reservation with me beforehand. If you decide that boarding would be a better option for your pet, I will even recommend a few places to you!
I think I would like to book a reservation. What do I do now?
